About Shah Environmental Consulting

Shah Environmental Consulting is an independent editorial site covering three things most households never think about until something goes wrong: the air you breathe indoors, the water you drink and bathe in, and the safety devices that stand between you and a household emergency.

Why this site exists

Buying guides for air quality monitors, water filters, and home safety devices are usually written to sell a product. Spec sheets are cherry-picked, certifications are glossed over, and "best of" lists change with whoever pays the most.

We do the opposite. Every guide on this site is built around a real household scenario — a stuffy home office, a basement radon concern, a well that tests high in hardness, a gas kitchen without a CO alarm — and compares products against published specifications, certified claims, running costs, and longevity.

How we research

• We start with the problem, not the product: who needs this device, in what home, and what budget?
• We compare current manufacturer specifications and third-party certifications rather than repeating marketing claims.
• We include running costs — filter replacements, battery life, and sensor calibration — because the purchase price is rarely the real cost.
• Every article carries an updated date and links to the manufacturer's current product page so you can verify the facts yourself.

Our independence

We do not accept payment for reviews, and we do not sell placements. Affiliate links may earn a commission when you buy a product we recommend, but they never influence which products appear in a guide or where they rank. Products appear because they solve the scenario well for the price.
